SAINTS heroes Rickie Lambert and Jose Fonte will lock horns with Man United favourites Dimitar Berbatov and Louis Saha at St Mary's.

A Saints Legends XI will face Manchester United Legends in a match marking the 50th anniversary of the club’s historic 1976 FA Cup triumph.

The fixture is set for 3pm on Saturday, March 28, at St Mary's. Adult tickets are priced at £20, but are discounted for season ticket holders and members.

Lambert and Fonte for the hosts, and Berbatov and Saha for the visitors, are the first four players sealed for the match during the international break.

Lambert and Fonte boast 523 Saints appearances between them and helped the club rise from League One to the Premier League in the 2010s.

Meanwhile, Berbatov, Bulgaria's top goalscorer, netted 56 times in 149 Man United appearances, and France international Saha hit 42 in 124.

The fixture is part of a programme of anniversary events celebrating the only major trophy in Saints’ history, to honour the players for their achievement.

Former Saints players from across several eras are expected to feature, with full squad announcements to be confirmed in the build-up to the game.

Tickets are now on sale through the club’s official website, with prices starting at £5 for supporters of concessionary age groups.
