Adam Lawrence, who Darren Fletcher replaced as Manchester United's U18 boss, has quit his new job after just five months.
The coach departed Man United at the end of last season, opening the door for club legend Fletcher to take his role.

He then joined Newcastle United in September as their U21 Lead Coach, stating it was a 'real privilege' to be a part of the set-up.
However, just five months on, Lawrence has left the Magpies after making the decision to walk away.
The club confirmed the news in a statement released on Monday, writing: “Adam Lawrence has chosen to step down from his role as Lead Coach of Newcastle United Under-21s.
“Lawrence took charge of the Magpies’ under-21 side in September 2025, joining the Magpies’ Academy from Manchester United, where he was Lead Coach for the club’s under-18s side.

"Robbie Stockdale will take interim charge of United's under-21s while the process of recruiting a new lead coach takes place."
Newcastle's Academy Director, Steve Harper, added: "I'd like to thank Adam for his time with us leading the Under-21 group.
"We wish him the best of luck as he pursues the next step in his coaching career."
Harper's comments hint at Lawrence potentially leaving for another role, as his youth coaching career continues.
He started off as a coach at Millwall before making a switch to Charlton Athletic and becoming their Head of Academy Coaching.
Lawrence then joined Man United in 2021, becoming U18s manager in 2023 and leaving to start his Newcastle role last year.

What has Lawrence said?
Lawrence has released a statement of his own about his abrupt departure from Newcastle's U21 set-up.
He wrote: "I have made the decision to leave my role as U21 Player Development Lead atNewcastle UnitedAcademy.
"After being at the club for a short period of time, this was a really difficult decision to make.
"However, there are times in life where you have to make tough choices and this is one of those moments.
"I would like to thank Steve Harper for the opportunity to work at such an amazing club, and wish the Academy and Club every success in the future. Newcastle is a truly special place.
"I look forward to exploring potential opportunities that are out there for me."

Fletcher returns to U18s role
Fletcher took Lawrence's role as U18s manager after he left Man United before getting the call for the first team.
The ex-Scotland international stood in for two games as caretaker Red Devils boss after Ruben Amorim's sacking.
Michael Carrick has now been appointed as interim manager until the end of the season, taking over from Fletcher.

He was offered a spot on Carrick's backroom staff, but he turned the offer down to return to his U18s role.
The 41-year-old will be back in the dugout for the young United side's FA Youth Cup tie against Derby County next week.
