Manchester United are eyeing a summer swoop for Bournemouth star Alex Scott alongside Elliot Anderson, according to TEAMtalk.
The Red Devils have made midfield additions their priority for 2026 amid question marks over the futures of Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes heading into the summer, and it's understood that Nottingham Forest star Anderson is seen as their top target.
But the club could be looking to make two additions in the position, and it has now emerged that they have identified another young English star as a potential candidate to come in and bolster their squad ahead of the new season.

Alex Scott
Scott, who has been described as 'unbelievable' by Pep Guardiola, has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in the Premier League this season, becoming a regular starter for Bournemouth under Andoni Iraola, and earning a first call-up to the England senior team.
While he didn't make his debut under Thomas Tuchel, the German has also praised him for his quality, and it has now emerged that Man Utd are one of several clubs tracking his situation heading into the summer transfer window.
The young midfielder, who was compared to Jack Grealish during his time at Bristol City, formed a terrific partnership with Anderson in the England Under-21's setup, and United chiefs have identified him as someone who would strengthen their midfield options in 2026.
It's also acknowledged that Bournemouth boss Iraola is out of contract this summer, and that makes the future of a lot of their star players uncertain, although the Cherries are keen not to lose a host of key men again and are looking to tie the 22-year-old down to a new long-term contract at the Vitality Stadium.
Iraola has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer to be the permanent replacement for Amorim, which could also make things more intriguing.
Alex Scott Would be Perfect for Man Utd

While a move for a player like Anderson is rightly at the top of the agenda for Man Utd, the club's success has often been built on how good the squad players are and Scott would be an excellent addition to the side.
While Ugarte has struggled with the pace of the Premier League and Casemiro's legs have caught up with him in his old age, Scott would bring a new energy to the midfield, which is also capable of breaking up play and building attacks from deep positions.
It's also no coincidence that United's successes have always come from having an English core, and adding Scott to a midfield that contains the likes of Anderson, Mainoo and potentially Adam Wharton too, would be a magical window for the Reds.
How likely it is remains to be seen, but this would be a terrific bit of business by Man Utd, and if they can get it done they would be much better off as a result.
