The Man Utd co-owner has reportedly put OGC Nice up for sale.
A report from Bloomberg claims Ineos founder Ratcliffe had initially aimed to sell the Ligue 1 club for at least €200 million (£173.36m) but has now 'significantly cut' that asking price. It is claimed Nice was put up for sale last year and that the independent advisory firm Lazard Inc. was hired to help find a buyer for the French team.
However, the prospect of a sale has been severely hampered by the uncertainty around broadcasting revenue after Ligue 1 took control of its broadcast rights and launched its own streaming platform. Ratcliffe acquired Nice in 2019 but has been unable to transform them into the leading team in French football. The club currently sit 14th in the Ligue 1 table, just six points above the relegation zone.

Ratcliffe flies in for United talks
The news regarding a possible sale of OGC Nice comes at a time when Jim Ratcliffe has flown to Manchester to hold direct talks with Joel and Avram Glazer.
United's ownership group will be in attendance for the latest ExCo committee meeting, while it will also give them all an opportunity to meet new head coach Michael Carrick. The former United midfielder was officially appointed on an interim basis earlier this week after the club took action to sack Ruben Amorim last week.
It is understood United hold these ExCo meetings monthly and that they are usually held in Monaco. However, the decision has been made to move the latest gathering to the club's Carrington training complex to 'avoid upheaval' at what has been a turbulent time for the club.
United's hierarchy are likely to use the opportunity to discuss commercial matters amid a search for both a training ground kit partner and a new sleeve shirt sponsor. They could also use the meeting to update on the club's January transfer plans and the possibility of a lucrative friendly match in Saudi Arabia.
