He wants the move: Bayern Munich readying huge offer to sign £300,000-a-week Man Utd star

Bayern Munich are now preparing a stunning £80m+ offer to sign one of Manchester United's most important players, according to reports.

Rumours of a major exit is the last thing that those at Old Trafford need. The Red Devils have endured a nightmare few weeks, and not for the first time, after deciding to part ways with Ruben Amorim.

He knows Carrick well...

The former Sporting CP boss lasted less than two years and, in the end, it was his words that got him the sack at a time when results were beginning to improve.

Back to square one, INEOS have appointed Michael Carrick as interim boss until the end of the season. The former Middlesbrough boss arrives hoping to finally be the successful manager that other ex-players struggled to become. But even if he does have success, Gary Neville is hoping to see his tenure come to an end in the summer as planned.

It's hardly an environment that will attract players at present, even if names like Thomas Tuchel have been mooted. Instead, it's the type that top players may want to get out of.

Reports are already claiming that an exit could be on the cards of Joshua Zirkzee, and it could only get worse from there. Reports in Spain have even gone as far as to claim that Bayern Munich are readying an offer to sign Bruno Fernandes worth €100m (£87m).

Man Utd should do everything to keep Fernandes

It goes without saying that losing the captain would be a nightmare for Man United, yet it may be their reality sooner or later. The Portugal international reportedly wants to leave the club amid interest from Bayern in the hope of turning Old Trafford woes into German silverware.

Alarm bells were already ringing last summer when Fernandes came close to leaving for the Saudi Pro League and he hardly eased United's nerves when he spoke about that situation in a recent interview.

The 31-year-old said: "From the club I felt it was, 'If you go it's not so bad for us'. It hurts me a bit. More than hurting me, it makes me sad. I'm a player that no-one can criticise, I'm always available, I always give my best."

Almost a year on and under yet another new manager, those at Old Trafford must avoid facing a similar situation with their star man, who is also their second-highest earner at £300,000-a-week.

Rank Player Gross pay per week Gross pay per year

1 Casemiro £350,000 £18,200,000

2 Bruno Fernandes £300,000 £15,600,000

3 Matthijs de Ligt £195,000 £10,140,000

4 Harry Maguire £190,000 £9,880,000

5 Matheus Cunha £180,000 £9,360,000

Even for a hefty fee, selling Fernandes this year would be yet another mistake made by INEOS at Man United.
