Manchester United are set to change to a 4-2-3-1 formation and might need to alter their transfer plans to make it a success.
United have already planned to refresh their midfield this summer and are expected to spend big on a marquee addition to the first-team squad in that position. They are also set to target a left winger to bring better balance to the forward line, while another striker could be signed to provide suitable competition for Benjamin Sesko.
United will look to ensure that no matter who is signed they are capable of adapting to several tactical set-ups, while there is still a preference to sign those already proven in the Premier League.
