Bruno Fernandes will not push for an exit from Manchester United in January despite the changes at Old Trafford following the sacking of Ruben Amorim.
The Portuguese star remains the team's talisman and there were suggestions that the change in the dugout may see him consider his future. A move away was touted in the summer with Saudi Arabian clubs particularly keen in the 31-year-old.
But The Sun reports that Fernandes will stick it out in Manchester before deciding on his next move following the World Cup. Interest from the Middle East remains whilst teams in Europe will keep tabs and there of course remains the possibility that he stays put.
Fernandes, despite his age, remains one of the club's most expensive assets. He is also their most consistent performer and often cited as a bright light in a team that has regularly underwhelmed.
He made it clear that he was hurt by the club's summer stance, which saw them willing to cash in on Fernandes if a suitable offer came in. The club left it up to the player, knowing they would either retain a quality individual or receive huge sums, and that struck a chord with the ex-Sporting Lisbon man.
Fernandes has told Canal 11: “From the club’s side, it felt a bit like, ‘if you leave, it’s not so bad for us.’ It hurts me a bit. More than hurting, it makes me sad because I’m a player who has nothing to criticise. I’m always available, I always play, good or bad. I give my all. But it gets to a point where, for them, money is more important than anything.
“The club wanted me to go, I have that in my head. I told the directors that, but I think they didn’t have the courage to make that decision, because the manager wanted me. If I had said I wanted to leave, they would have let me go.”

Fernandes has been in Manchester since January 2020 and is regarded as the club's best signing in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era. United remain confident that they can secure some of their major summer targets with midfield still a particular area of concern.
They will not make any moves in January with the men on their shortlist not available until the summer. Brighton's Carlos Baleba was on their radar last summer whilst they're also keen on Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson - the duo likely to feature for England at the World Cup in America.
