Juventus have identified France international Mateta as the ideal replacement for Dusan Vlahovic who is expected to leave Turin at the end of his contract in June.

Tuttosport and Gazzetta report that the Bianconeri have already begun talks with Crystal Palace, as Luciano Spalletti would gladly welcome a classic centre-forward in the January transfer window.

According to Gazzetta, Palace have proposed to include Canada international David in a swap deal, but the Bianconeri were not receptive to the proposal.
Mateta’s contract with Crystal Palace expires in June 2027 and the striker seems unwilling to extend his stay.

According to Tuttosport, this means the 28-year-old could leave for circa €25m-30m, but other Italian media suggest that his price tag is close to €40, while British sources push the price to over €50m.
