Casemiro is currently expected to see his Manchester United contract expire at the end of this season, but he could earn an extension.
The 2026 summer transfer window looks set to be one of change for Manchester United, with the possibility of numerous big players leaving.
Both Casemiro and Harry Maguire are due for release, unless there are unexpected developments around a new contract for the two experienced leaders.
On top of this, Bruno Fernandes is expected to seek an exit with his £57m release clause likely to attract interest from Europe and beyond.
However, now it has been claimed that there is a chance the Brazilian will get an extension.
After his latest performances, do you want Casemiro to sign a one-year contract extension?

Casemiro has a potential Manchester United extension clause in contract
Recent Brazilian reports have claimed Casemiro is likely to leave United, with Saudi Arabian and American clubs interested in the defensive midfielder.

However, his future is far from set in stone, as Laurie Whitwell has now reported for The Athletic that Casemiro can trigger an extra-year option in his United contract through games played.
More United News
It is believed that Casemiro needs to start 35 games in total this season to trigger that agreement with United, which currently looks unlikely.
The 33-year-old has started 18 games this season, meaning he will need to start in every one of Michael Carrick’s 17 games in charge.
This makes it very unlikely that United will see that clause triggered; however, Whitwell does point out that Casemiro has been regular in the league.
But he needs to be perfect from now until then to earn it, in terms of his cards, fitness, and performances.
Is Gary Neville wrong to be ruling Michael Carrick out of the running for the permanent job already?
Or do you think this is a moment Neville is speaking sense?

Manchester United risk losing a lot of leadership in the squad
While on paper, both Casemiro and Maguire should be on the chopping block for United, in reality, this would be a massive loss of experience.
Two of the oldest and most experienced players at the club cannot both leave in the summer, on top of Fernandes, as it could have a catastrophic impact on United.
Earlier this season, we reported that United were discussing reduced terms with Casemiro over a possible extension, and perhaps this will be revisited if the clause is not triggered.
The Brazilian is known to love life in Manchester and would surely agree to stay, especially if United are eyeing Carlo Ancelotti as a possible next manager.
