Oliver Glasner will walk away from Crystal Palace at the end of the season
Oliver Glasner has confirmed that he will leave Crystal Palace at the end of the season. The Palace manager's current contract expires in June and the Austrian has decided not to sign a new one.
He is understood to be one of the names being considered by , who will appoint a new long-term boss in the summer after until the end of the season.
“I already informed the club months ago that I wanted a new challenge,” said on Friday in a press conference. "We had a very long talk, and I told him (chairman Steve Parish) I will not sign a new contract.
"We agreed at the time it was the best to keep it between us. It's the best that we could do that and keep it confidential for three months. But now it's important to have clarity, and we had a very busy schedule so that's why we didn't want to talk about it. Steve and I want the best for ."
Glasner joined Palace from Eintracht Frankfurt in February 2024 to replace . He helped Palace win the last season and has won 41 of his 95 matches in charge.

His final decision comes with the Palace hierarchy earlier this month. “I think in the next weeks, we will intensify the talks," he said ahead of the FA Cup tie against Macclesfield, which they went on to lose.
"With Macclesfield, Friday again, we go up north, and then everyone gets three days off after Macclesfield and then we have to target four regular weeks and in those weeks we will intensify the talks and I expect to find a final decision.”
Glasner is on United's radar following the sacking of Ruben Amorim earlier this month. The Austrian coach favours the same 3-4-3 tactical system as the fired Amorim and United are on the lookout for a long-term successor after handing the reins to Carrick.
United's hierarchy, led by chief executive Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox, are leading the search for a new manager. Glasner is among the names they are considering along with Carrick, England boss Thomas Tuchel and ex-Three Lions coach .
Speaking last week, Glasner added: “There has been speculation since I arrived. So, believe me, I don't really care about it. I can sign today, or a player can sign a contract extension today and leave in summer. That's why for me, the length of a contract in these times doesn't say anything about your future."
Palace were dumped out of the FA Cup by non-league Macclesfield last weekend and are currently 13th in the ahead of their trip to on Saturday afternoon. They are winless in nine games across all competitions and are also set to lose captain Marc Guehi, in the January window.
