Manchester United could be on the hunt for players and a new manager this month. The Red Devils have been handed a double boost as Amad and Bryan Mbeumo return to the squad for the derby on Saturday.

Interim boss Michael Carrick will be able to call upon the two attackers following their return from AFCON as he seeks a successful run to the end of the season. United host Manchester City on Saturday afternoon with no new additions to the squad.

In comparison, City have secured Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth, and he is already firing with two goals in two games so far. City have also just agreed a deal to sign Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

Oliver Glasner makes decision

Oliver Glasner has confirmed he will leave Crystal Palace at the end of the season following his contract expiration. The FA Cup winner's deal will end in June, and his future in London has been in doubt amid strong links to United.

Glasner said: "I had a meeting in October with Steve Parish. We had dinner and a long talk. I told him I will not sign a new contract for Crystal Palace. We agreed it was best to keep it between us, confidentially, and we did for three months. I told the team today. It’s now important to have clarity.

"I don’t want to have this question. We had a very busy schedule. We want the same, me and Steve. Steve has no ego. Oliver Glasner has no ego, we want is best for Palace. It’s important to have clarity, this is what the players deserve, this is what fans deserve, that’s why I tell it today."

He added: "I told Steve [Parish] I’m just looking for a new challenge. I told him in October, it’s nothing to do with the transfer window. I hate if something is written or said which is not true, and it was very tough for me not to respond. We have a great relationship, and we’re always talking about what is best for Crystal Palace.

"I haven’t spoken to any other club, I told the players that and promised them today I will give my best to give the best season in Crystal Palace history, the best points tally in history."

Glasner made history with the Eagles by guiding them to an FA Cup win last year. Now, his Palace exit coincidentally lines up with Carrick's future departure from United after taking interim charge.

Manchester United are reportedly among several clubs that have been offered Ruben Loftus-Cheek by AC Milan. TeamTalk reports that the Red Devils have the opportunity to secure the former Chelsea midfielder in January.

Milan are said to be open to a loan with an obligation to buy in the summer. Other clubs also in the running include Newcastle, Sunderland, Fulham, Aston Villa, Everton and Brentford.

The 29-year-old left the Blues in 2023 after an eight-year tenure, heading to Italy permanently following loans at Palace and Fulham. Across his career, the midfielder has scored 30 goals and made 32 assists in 367 appearances. Loftus-Cheek won two Premier League titles, one Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup with Chelsea and could be a solid addition to United.
