Manchester United may be searching for both players and a new manager this month. The club have received a double boost with Amad and Bryan Mbeumo returning to the squad ahead of Saturday's derby.

Interim manager Michael Carrick will be able to select the two attackers following their return from AFCON as he aims for a strong finish to the campaign. United welcome Manchester City on Saturday afternoon without any new signings.

In contrast, City have brought in Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth, and he's already made an impact with two goals in his first two games. City have also recently finalised a deal to bring in Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

United will be hoping to strengthen their squad before the January transfer window shuts and are in search of a new manager ahead of the summer. Here, rounds up all the latest transfer news from Old Trafford.

Oliver Glasner has announced he will depart Crystal Palace at the end of the season when his contract expires. The FA Cup-winning manager's deal runs out in June, and his future in the capital has been uncertain amid strong speculation linking him with United.

Glasner said: "I had a meeting in October with Steve Parish. We had dinner and a long talk. I told him I will not sign a new contract for Crystal Palace. We agreed it was best to keep it between us, confidentially, and we did for three months. I told the team today. It's now important to have clarity.

"I don't want to have this question. We had a very busy schedule. We want the same, me and Steve. Steve has no ego. Oliver Glasner has no ego, we want is best for Palace. It's important to have clarity, this is what the players deserve, this is what fans deserve, that's why I tell it today."

He added: "I told Steve [Parish] I'm just looking for a new challenge. I told him in October, it's nothing to do with the transfer window. I hate if something is written or said which is not true, and it was very tough for me not to respond. We have a great relationship, and we're always talking about what is best for Crystal Palace.

"I haven't spoken to any other club, I told the players that and promised them today I will give my best to give the best season in Crystal Palace history, the best points tally in history."

Glasner achieved a historic milestone with the Eagles last year by steering them to FA Cup glory. His departure from Palace now coincidentally lines up with Carrick's impending exit from United following his spell as interim manager.

Manchester United are understood to be among a number of clubs that could sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek from AC Milan. According to TeamTalk, United have been 'offered' the ex-Chelsea midfielder by the Italian side.

Milan are believed to be willing to sanction a loan deal with an obligation to purchase permanently in the summer. Additional clubs who are also interested reportedly include Newcastle, Sunderland, Fulham, Aston Villa, Everton and Brentford.

The 29-year-old departed from the Blues in 2023 after an eight-year stint, making a permanent move to Italy following loan spells at Palace and Fulham. Throughout his career, the midfielder has scored 30 goals and provided 32 assists in 367 appearances.

Loftus-Cheek clinched two Premier League titles, one Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup with Chelsea and could prove to be a valuable addition to United.
