Top 10 worst Man Utd managers after Sir Alex Ferguson and where Michael Carrick ranks

Manchester United's managerial position has become one of the toughest jobs in football of late. Many have tried to conquer the beast, with almost all of them falling by the wayside.

Especially in the years that have followed since Sir Alex Ferguson retired and left the club following his illustrious 27-year stint in charge of the Red Devils. It was always going to be a tough act to follow, but in reality, United have been a club in freefall for some time.

But how do the managers - permanent, interim and caretakers - since Ferguson left rank up?

10 - Michael Carrick

Michael Carrick has of course already been in the Old Trafford dugout.

In fairness, he's perhaps a little unlucky to have been included in this list because he has never lost as United gaffer.

Carrick was in charge for three matches back in 2021.

He just makes it in ahead of Ruud van Nistelrooy, who also went unbeaten, but did so across a four-game stint instead.
