Crystal Palace attacker agrees exit – Work ongoing to finalise details with Eagles

Juventus have come forward to sign Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta in the winter market.

Two days ago, claims from Italy explained the Serie A side made contact over a move for the striker. Oliver Glasner’s side have informed the Turin club that they need €30-35m to sanction a move in January.

Last month, journalist Marco Guidi stated Crystal Palace set a €60m price when AC Milan approached them for Mateta. The latest figure is around half that.

Gianluca Di Marzio now covers the latest on Juve’s pursuit of the France international.

He says the Old Lady are in ongoing negotiations with both the player and Crystal Palace over bringing him to Italy in January.

The Eagles are working on signing SCO Angers’ Sidiki Chérif this month. He’s seen as a replacement for the 28-year-old at Selhurst Park.

Di Marzio mentioned Crystal Palace’s efforts to sign Chérif and it’s believed the former Mainz 05 man is getting ‘closer and closer’ to Juve.

Sky Italia also report negotiations are advancing between the Italian club and Glasner’s side. In the past few hours, there’s been positive contact and work is ongoing to finalise an agreement.

Luciano Spalletti’s side are pushing to secure the Crystal Palace player’s services in this window. The manager is especially keen on the transfer.

TuttoMercatoWeb backs the claims up and state Juventus have made further advances.

According to them, the attacker is ‘completely open’ to joining Juventus and has already reached an agreement with them. They now have to agree terms with Crystal Palace to get this deal over the line.

TMW report the Turin club want to sign Mateta on loan with an obligation to buy. There’s no mention of a figure but it’s believed this formula satisfies the FA Cup winners.

With Mateta’s approval, Juventus are working on finalising the details of the operation with Crystal Palace.
