Juventus are working towards a deal for Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta, GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano has revealed.
The Serie A club have reportedly held positive talks with the Frenchman over personal terms, with an agreement between the parties close to being reached.
Juventus are believed to be exploring a loan with an obligation to buy Mateta after the season, but have yet to receive the green light from Palace over the proposed terms.
Premier League clubs are also believed to be following the centre-forward’s situation, with Mateta open to moving this window, five years after joining Palace from Mainz.

Romano, writing on X, revealed that a deal for Mateta’s move to Juventus depends on both Palace’s decision and the exit conditions.
Mateta’s departure would be a huge blow for Palace following a turbulent Friday at Selhurst Park.
The Eagles agreed a deal to sell captain Marc Guehi to Manchester City and saw manager Oliver Glasner announce that he will depart at the end of the season.
Mateta has been Palace’s top scorer across the past three Premier League seasons, netting 38 goals since the start of the 2023/24 campaign.
The ‘outstanding’ Frenchman has 10 goals in 32 appearances this season but has endured a poor run over the last six weeks, scoring only once in his last nine league matches.
Palace Have Identified a Potential Replacement

Palace are likely to sign a new forward before the closure of the transfer window if Mateta leaves and are believed to have already identified a potential target.
As GIVEMESPORT reported in December, the Eagles are one of the sides interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers frontman Jorgen Strand Larsen.
The Norway international is believed to be available for departure this month amid Wolves’ precarious Premier League position, sitting rock bottom of the table after 21 games.
Strand Larsen has struggled for form after netting 14 league goals last season, finding the back of the net just once in 19 appearances this term.

With Guehi and Mateta both potentially on the move, Palace are heading for a busy final two weeks of the summer transfer window.
The Eagles are already making progress on a deal for Angers striker Sidiki Cherif, having made an initial offer and reached an agreement over personal terms with the 19-year-old.
