Fabrizio Romano Confirms“Concrete” Oliver Glasner Update as Man United Linked With “Good Connection”

Fabrizio Romano has revealed the latest on whether Man United could appoint Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner in the summer.

Man United appointed Michael Carrick as manager for the rest of the season, but it is understood that the Red Devils are going to sign a permanent boss in the summer after the season has finished.

The decision is because there is going to be a plethora of world-class managers available, such as Thomas Tuchel, Carlo Ancelotti, and Julian Nagelsmann, after the World Cup.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is also set to be available, after he dropped a bombshell in his press conference this week, as it wasn’t just that Marc Guehi was leaving to Manchester City.

Glasner is leaving Palace at the end of the season

Glasner’s contract at Palace expires at the end of the season, and he revealed on Friday that he won’t sign an extension, and is set to take a new job for next year.

The Austrian has done a superb job for Crystal Palace; He’s been able to get them playing some of the most attractive football in the Premier League, and he managed to win their first ever major trophy in the FA Cup last season.

By winning the FA Cup, Palace also qualified for the Europa Conference League, so it is no surprise that Glasner will be a wanted man in the summer.

Romano says Man United have a “good connection” with Glasner

The Palace manager has been linked with a move to Man United, as the Red Devils view him as a really talented Premier League boss. He is currently the odds’ favourite to take over the job at Old Trafford, and now that he’s confirmed he’s leaving Palace, it looks even more likely.

Fabrizio Romano has also said that despite being no concrete news on Glasner to Man United, he does have a “good connection” with several people at the club. He said on his YouTube Channel: “Regarding Glasner, there is a good connection with some people at Manchester United, particularly Christopher Vivell, who knows German football very well.

“However, it is still too early to say he is definitely on their shortlist. Many clubs are following his situation, so there will be conversations about his future, but nothing is concrete with United at this stage.”
