However, the 26-year-old Portuguese full-back found himself in hot water in the first half after he brought down Jeremy Doku with a contentious challenge.
Diogo Dalot was booked in the 11th minute and was furious, but Manchester City fans felt that the Man Utd defender should have been dismissed for his tackle.

VAR reviewed the decision of Dalot catching Jeremy Doku high on the knee and deemed that there was not enough reason to warrant a red card for the tackle.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Roy Keane believes that Dalot should have been sent off and was left scratching his head at how the challenge was not deemed a red card.
“They’ve had a look at it,” he said.
“Again, we always argue about, does it matter what minute it is? Is it too early, too early to score a goal or a bad tackle like that?
“Listen, I’ve been down this road before, I’ve given some heavy tackles and been on the receiving end of a few. To me, I’m no expert on red cards, but I think it’s a red.”

Alan Shearer’s verdict on Man Utd defender Diogo Dalot against Man City’s Jeremy Doku spoke volumes
United legend Keane was not alone with the decision made by referee Anthony Taylor and over VAR not intervening with a potential red card for Diogo Dalot.
Alan Shearer on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, echoed the sentiments of Sky Sports pundit Keane over the controversial call in the match.
“And again,” he tweeted, before adding: “That’s a red all day, man. What on earth are they thinking?”
