Manchester City suffered a painful 2-0 defeat against their rivals Manchester United in their match on Saturday at Old Trafford, as part of the 22nd round of the English Premier League.

The first half saw numerous missed opportunities from both sides, with a lack of attacking effectiveness, ending in a goalless draw.
At the start of the second half, Manchester United managed to open the scoring through Bryan Mbeumo in the 65th minute, before Patrick Drogba doubled their lead in the 76th minute. With this victory, Manchester United raised their points tally to 35, securing fourth place and achieving their ninth league win this season, compared to five losses and eight draws.
Meanwhile, Manchester City's points total remained at 43, keeping them in second place, after suffering their fifth defeat in the competition, alongside 13 wins and four draws, thus giving Arsenal a valuable opportunity in the title race. The match marked Michael Carrick's first appearance as head coach of Manchester United, after taking over the job temporarily until the end of the season, succeeding coach Ruben Amorim.
