There was also a heartwarming exchange between Patrick Dorgu and Evra on social media, with the current United star hoping to follow in his footsteps at Old Trafford.
Evra also responded to Kobbie Mainoo after the full-time whistle. Once he was done praising United’s stars, he turned to mocking Manchester City’s Rayan Cherki.

Patrice Evra has last laugh at Rayan Cherki
Last summer, United showed interest in Rayan Cherki, but he ended up completing a £30 million move to Manchester City instead.
United knocked Cherki’s Lyon out of the Europa League last season, and he joined City hoping for vengeance against the Red Devils.

As per The Times, Cherki said “I want to kill Manchester United” this season, but he ended up being humiliated by Michael Carrick’s side at Old Trafford.

On Instagram, Evra replied to a post about Cherki by saying: “Amazing player but when you don’t respect United that [is] what you get! FOREVRA RED”
Rayan Cherki had a disaster display vs Man United
Last season, Cherki starred at Old Trafford for Lyon but he was knocked out by the Red Devils in a dramatic 5-4 Europa League clash.
However, he didn’t even make Pep Guardiola’s starting XI for Sunday’s derby. Guardiola was outclassed by Carrick, and he ended up making changes at half-time, including the introduction of Cherki.
Cherki came on to replace Phil Foden, but he had little to no impact on the game in his 45-minute disaster display.

Per SofaScore, Cherki lost possession 16 times in just 45 minutes. He only completed one defensive contribution and won just one of his six duels.
If there was any regret at United about missing out on Cherki, there certainly shouldn’t be after watching Sunday’s derby.
