The latest Man Utd transfer news updates in the January window with a player set to leave.

The 22-year-old has agreed a deal to join the Championship side, with a deal expected to be announced today. He will become Hull's first signing of the window, but is not expected to be part of their squad to face Preston on Tuesday night. Collyer has only just returned from a calf injury and might need a week of training before he is ready to be unleashed for his new side this weekend.

Collyer was recalled by United earlier in the window after he struggled to make an impact at West Brom. The midfielder rejected a move to Hull last summer to move to the Hawthorns, but was limited to just 12 appearances. It is understood he has been impressed by the work Hull have done this season and made it clear he wanted to be part of their squad under Sergej Jakirovic.

Collyer set for Hull loan

Hull City are set to announce the signings of both Toby Collyer and Yu Hirakawa on loan for the remainder of the season today.

Speaking over the weekend, Hull boss Sergej Jakirovic confirmed the duo were set to join the club, but warned that Collyer will probably not be involved for their crucial clash against Preston tomorrow night.

"With Yu Hirakawa I think we agree everything with Bristol [City] and after a medical check on Sunday he will have a press conference and he will be our player," Jakirovic told BBC Radio Humberside. "He brings speed, good technique, more options. He can play right, left, winger or wing back – everything. There is a chance he could be involved on Tuesday [against Preston at Deepdale] as he is ready and in good shape and he is in full training.

"With Toby Collyer we are waiting but I think we have a green light from Man United and I think he will join us on Monday. This is what I know but we have agreed everything with Man United. He will have a medical this weekend. He is now ready for training."

Collyer made 13 appearances for the United first team last season after he made his competitive debut for the club in the Community Shield defeat to Man City under Erik ten Hag. United sources initially stated Collyer could remain at the club for the remainder of the season, but he is now expected to be allowed to leave.
