Soccer game eFootball has hit 950million global downloads as gamers enjoy the sports sim’s free-to-play access.

Makers Konami are delighted that the hit simulation title is heading towards the one billion threshold and that PS5 and Xbox players across the world are enjoying being teams like Arsenal and Man Utd in the title.

They’re offering fans a special campaign to celebrate their latest milestone featuring Michael Carrick’s resurgent Red Devils.

A spokesman said: “Celebrating this significant milestone, users can earn renowned Manchester United legends and take part in a special campaign featuring in-game events and earn distinct rewards, as well as login bonuses of eFootball coins.

“Users can earn a club pack featuring Manchester United’s starting 11 players.

“Additionally, distinguished legends of this historic club such as Big Time: George Best, Epic: Peter Schmeichel and Epic: Bryan Robson are now available to add to the squad.”
