Piers Morgan posts strong tweet about Man Utd legend's family following shock statement

British journalist and TV presenter Piers Morgan has fanned the flames of the Beckham family feud with a post of his own following Brooklyn’s bombshell statement on Monday afternoon. The 26-year-old’s relationship with his parents - former Manchester United icon David and former Spice Girl Victoria - came under scrutiny last month after it emerged that he had blocked them both on social media.

Reports suggested the rift had been brewing for several years, with tensions centred on his wife, Nicola Peltz, and her decision not to wear a dress designed by her mother-in-law. Brooklyn has since gone nuclear with a lengthy Instagram story, detailing how he was controlled during his upbringing, how the Beckhams’ “perfect family” image was a facade, and how he was finally standing up for himself by distancing himself from the rest of the family. See the full statement below:

Although he had previously said he wanted any reconciliation attempts to be handled privately, showbiz has taken hold of the drama, leaving it anything but private. Brooklyn has now sent legal letters to his parents stipulating that they may only communicate with him through his lawyers, while many in the British celebrity world - including Piers Morgan - have a strong opinion on things.

Morgan very rarely holds back in his opinion on things, and this week was no different as he weighed in on the Beckham family chaos that now seems to have reached boiling point. After gathering his thoughts on Brooklyn's six-page statement, he wrote on X (see the full post below):

"I didn’t think anything could be more excruciatingly embarrassing and eye-poppingly painful than fracturing a femur in a restaurant so badly I needed a new hip… but the Beckham family saga has managed it! What a repellent bunch of fake, narcissistic PR-obsessed twerps."

After calling Brooklyn an "entitled brat" last June, as per the Express, the 60-year-old made it very clear what he thinks about the Beckhams airing their family laundry in public. While many responses to his remarks questioned Morgan’s own PR-focused past on News of the World and Good Morning Britain, it’s obvious he has one or two issues with how the Beckham drama has unfolded.

One person who has yet to comment on the situation - despite Piers Morgan being just one of many weighing in, including one of David’s former Man United teammates and Rebecca Loos, who claims to have had an affair with him - is Nicola Peltz. The American actress has kept a lid on her emotions since the conflict first went public last month, despite being one of the main topics of the feud.

Instead, her public communication remains her social media activity, which has helped cause a stir in its own way. As reported by The Sun, one comment she liked on X read: “I’m glad Brooklyn was able to join such a nice family," while another said:

“I’m sorry, but no one knows what goes on behind closed doors… There’s obviously a reason why Brooklyn doesn’t speak with his parents. No child would ever choose to cut off their parents without good reason."

While much of Brooklyn's comments centred on his family's controlling behaviour and brand-first mentality, which led him to have severe anxiety growing up, just as much of his intentions of going public about his issues were also about how they have treated his actress wife Nicola Peltz.

One of the biggest talking points was what had happened on their wedding day, with the 26-year-old revealing: "My mum cancelled making Nicola's dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress. Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.

"They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since. During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me 'evil' because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola's Naunni, at our table, because they both didn't have their husbands.

"Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours. The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was 'not blood' and 'not family.'"
