Michael Carrick’s backroom coaching staff at Old Trafford have caught the eye of Manchester United insiders for all of the right reasons, according to stunning reports.
The 44-year-old Manchester United legend was installed as head coach at Old Trafford last week until the end of the 2025-26 Premier League campaign.

Michael Carrick’s arrival at Old Trafford led to a major overhaul of the United coaching staff after the Red Devils sacked Ruben Amorim as head coach.
The United interim manager included former club teammate Jonny Evans and Manchester United Under-21s head coach Travis Binnion in his backroom staff.
Two more key appointments for Carrick came with his reunion with former Middlesbrough first-team coach Jonathan Woodgate and Steve Holland.

Carrick has sent a clear-cut message to the United first-team players over what he expects from them under his reign until the end of the Premier League season.
According to The Daily Mail, the former Middlesbrough head coach has ‘informed’ Man Utd players that training sessions would be ‘shorter but more intense in nature.’
United insiders have said that the aforementioned sentiment was ‘immediately clear’ with how there was a ‘different energy’ on the pitch in the first session.

Jonathan Woodgate and Jonny Evans are both serving as Man Utd first-team coaches under Carrick, with Holland appointed as assistant manager at the club.
The Daily Mail reported unnamed Man Utd sources over the lasting impression that Carrick and his Red Devils coaching staff have made on the players so far.
According to the news outlet, Carrick’s backroom staff have been praised for the ‘blend of skillsets and personalities’ that now make up the key Man Utd personnel.
It is added that there is the belief that a ‘strong dynamic’ has already begun to emerge between the United first-team players and Carrick’s coaching staff.
