Kleberson has suggested Manchester United should structure their squad around Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha, while cautioning against significant spending in the January window. It looks to be a hectic month for Michael Carrick at Old Trafford, who has taken on the interim head coach position until the end of the season.

While his opening match in charge delivered a 2-0 triumph against Manchester City at the weekend, supporters across the globe will be monitoring closely to determine whether Carrick proves equally proactive in the transfer market. Numerous Premier League sides have been associated with potential incomings and departures lately, but activity at United has been notably quieter.

Despite rumours surrounding potential loan moves for Joshua Zirkzee and Kobbie Mainoo, both players appear destined to remain at the club. Beyond this, there has been minimal discussion regarding fresh signings, with Carrick appearing increasingly inclined to persist with his existing group of players.

The development will likely please Kleberson, who spent two years at United under Sir Alex Ferguson from 2003 to 2005, considering his recent views on recruitment. Speaking to Mirror Football, via Betvictor Online Casino, the Brazilian said: "For this month, it's tough to say something, some player, you know, because when you move a manager, when the coach gets a new club, he has to give a juice for the guys in the club.

"If you try to bring someone now, probably those guys are going to be waiting for some coach leaving, so they can think, 'Okay, now's the time to get it back.' And then some guys get it and say, 'Oh no, my gosh, that's my time, there's someone coming now.' I think they need to keep those guys, just put like a juice on those guys now.

"And then say, 'Guys, it's with us, man. With us. Let's put everything we have, let's play for Reds, and then try to bring everything you can to win those games and finish the season in a good position for the club.'"

When asked about whether United should delay any transfer activity until the summer window, Kleberson suggested that Carrick should allow the club to address matters at the season's conclusion when his contract ends. He said: "Exactly, because the mistakes are already made, you know what I mean? It's tough to fix now."

Elsewhere, Kleberson outlined that the club ought to construct their future plans around Fernandes and Cunha, highlighting how the pair could prove instrumental in reversing fortunes both domestically and on the European stage. Discussing his fellow Brazilian's progress following his summer switch from Wolves, he said: "I believe he's doing well, you know?

"The problem is when the team and club doesn't move well - it affects, unfortunately, the field. Even the players say, no, it doesn't affect the field, but it's unfortunately affecting. And then when he moved to United, he went with a lot of confidence.

"He played well in the beginning, he got back in the Brazilian national team. He played also so well in the Brazilian national team. He's a classic player. I think the combination he and Bruno is really good.

"I think United has to think, 'who's the next player going to be around those two guys?' The puzzle [of the team], they can get it closer together? And [when they do] then the seasons go really, really consistently because those two are really, really good players."

United currently find themselves in fifth place in the Premier League table, having secured nine victories, eight draws and five defeats this season. Their next challenge is a journey to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, 25 January, where they'll face Mikel Arteta's top-of-the-table Arsenal side.
