Radek Vitek performs extraordinary save for Bristol City

Vitek has been one of the Championship’s best goalkeepers this season, with only two shot-stoppers recording a higher save percentage.

He has kept eight clean sheets in 23 appearances, helping Bristol City to 11th in the Championship standings.

Bristol City lost 2-0 to promotion-pushing Ipswich Town on Tuesday evening, but it would have been far worse but for Vitek’s heroics in goal.

The Championship on X clipped one of Vitek’s incredible saves from the match, when the United loanee somehow got back up off the ground to deny Ipswich from close range.

It is easily a contender for save of the season, and it is the type of action which will catch the eye of United staff back at Carrington.

Radek Vitek is ready to compete with Senne Lammens

United fans have fallen in love with Senne Lammens ever since he completed his £18 million move from Royal Antwerp in the summer.

Lammens has been a huge upgrade on Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir, and Ineos will be feeling rather smug about their decision to sign the youngster over proven options like Gianluigi Donnarumma or Emiliano Martinez.

The 23-year-old looks like he has what it takes to be United’s No.1 for the next decade, but he could face stiff competition from Vitek.

Vitek is set to return to Manchester at the end of the season, and he will rightly have his sights set on a first-team spot.

The two talented, young goalkeepers will likely go head-to-head in pre-season for a starting spot, and Lammens might be growing more and more concerned if he watches Vitek’s performances out on loan.
