Celtic and Manchester United sacked their respective coaches – Wilfried Nancy and Ruben Amorim – on the same day at the start of January.
Added to that, the duo have also gone down the same road of appointing interim managers until the end of the season.
Celtic have brought back Martin O’Neill, whilst Manchester United have assigned Michael Carrick to try and revive the Old Trafford sinking ship.
On the latest edition of the Overlap, O’Neill and Celtic’s names were brought up during a discussion about Manchester United and Carrick, which Jamie Carragher disagreed with.

Jamie Carragher on Martin O’Neill’s interim spell at Celtic as Manchester United search for a new manager
In the summer, both Celtic and Manchester United will be on the hunt for a new manager.
Even if O’Neill guides the Hoops to title number 56, a new face is expected to come in and take the club forward over the long run.
However, if Carrick does well at Man United, there are some suggestions that he should be given the gig full-time.

Jill Scott used O’Neill’s interim stint at Celtic as an example that Carrick could produce the goods and get the permanent job.
But Carragher shut down that claim and explained that O’Neill is already a ‘legend’ in Celtic quarters, whilst Carrick, who has only had one job in his managerial career so far, is the complete opposite.
Gary Neville: “I am quite emphatic that, however Michael (Carrick) does, and hopefully he does brilliantly well, and he gets in the Champions League, that Manchester United should still bring in Tuchel or Ancelotti at the end of the season.
“Are we all in that position?”
Jill Scott: “The only thing I think is Celtic and Martin O’Neill. That situation. That’s the only thing. He came in, did well, and got rid of him.”
Carragher: “But he was a legend before.”
Scott: “But they have referred back to him, haven’t they?”
Carragher: “I get that. But he has got that sort of thing behind being a great Celtic manager. Michael Carrick has sort of had a good and decent managerial career at Middlesbrough.
“Manchester United should not be employing Michael Carrick. I hope it doesn’t go well for him, but I hope he does okay.”
