Manchester United loanee Radek Vitek has become an online sensation following a remarkable save for Bristol City during their Championship clash with Ipswich Town on Tuesday.

With Ipswich holding a 1-0 advantage, Vitek produced an extraordinary stop to keep Bristol City in contention, instinctively stretching out a hand to divert the ball over the bar whilst grounded.

"And the goalkeeper somehow manages to keep the ball out when he had no right to," said the commentator on Sky Sports. "That's an incredible save from Vitek, it's outstanding," added the co-commentator.

Ipswich secured all three points with a 2-0 triumph, yet Vitek has received widespread praise for his spectacular intervention. The 22-year-old has impressed during his loan spell at Bristol City and continues to flourish.

Senne Lammens arrived for £18.2million from Royal Antwerp during the summer transfer window, though Vitek could feasibly compete with Lammens for the number one jersey upon his return to Old Trafford, reports the Manchester Evening News.

In November, Vitek said: "It would be a dream to play for Manchester United, but I will take it game by game, and I know there's a big challenge in front of me, but I want to improve every week."

Vitek produced an outstanding display in United's first pre-season fixture against Rosenborg in 2024, but was absent from this summer's tour of the United States due to an impending loan move.

The shot-stopper penned a fresh United deal running until 2028 before making a temporary switch to Bristol City.
