Bruno Fernandes’ impressive performance for Manchester United against Manchester City has now earned the Portugal international another major piece of recognition this season.
The 31-year-old Manchester United captain was a standout performer last weekend, with Bruno Fernandes picking up a superb assist in the latest Manchester derby.

Fernandes linked up with Bryan Mbeumo and the Red Devils duo broke the deadlock for Man Utd against Manchester City in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
The United midfielder was deployed as a No 10 last Saturday, with Amad Diallo and Patrick Dorgu either side of Fernandes and Bryan Mbeumo led the frontline.
Following Mbeumo’s second-half opener, United ensured their win over City after Patrick Dorgu found the back of the net from close range in the 76th minute.

Bruno Fernandes played the majority of the Premier League match before Michael Carrick pulled the Manchester United and Portugal midfielder from the pitch.

The Premier League’s official website has now revealed that Fernandes has won the fans’ vote for the ‘Player of the Matchweek’ for ‘Matchweek 22’ this season.
It is not the first time that the former Sporting CP midfielder has been named Player of the Matchweek, with Fernandes scooping the accolade on two previous occasions.

The Premier League has revealed that Red Devils ace Fernandes has become the ‘first player’ to win the Player of the Matchweek award ‘three times’ this season.
Along with his win for ‘Matchweek 22,’ Fernandes came out on top in the votes for ‘Matchweek 13’ and ‘Matchweek 15’ for the Player of the Matchweek accolade.
Fernandes has made 21 appearances across all competitions in the 2025-26 campaign and the Portugal ace has scored five times and registered 10 assists.
