One of the biggest questions Manchester United were going to have over the next few months was whether to extend Casemiro’s contract or not, but now the Brazilian has made his decision.
With his contract set to expire in June, Casemiro has taken matters into his own hands to confirm that he will be leaving the club at the end of his contract.
Casemiro joined United for £60m back in 2022, and has since gone on to make himself a cult hero, and will be remembered fondly by the fans at Old Trafford.

After he struggled in 2024/25 with the pace of the Premier League, Casemiro came back fighting, and this season has been pivotal for United and, quite frankly, undroppable.
However, with a £300,000-a-week contract, his chances of an extension were slim, and now he has explained his decision.
Casemiro says he is leaving Manchester United while he is on top
Casemiro took to his Instagram with the message of his exit from United, explaining he wanted to leave while the fans will remember him and respect him forever.

Bruno Fernandes responds to Casemiro
In the comments, United players were flooding in to wish Casemiro well, and chief amongst them was Bruno Fernandes.
Fernandes wrote, “Was a pleasure playing alongside you”, with a heart emoji.
Casemiro will be missed at United, and fans will long be singing his name for his good moments over the past four years.
