“I will carry Manchester United with me throughout my entire life,” Casemiro said in a statement. “From the first day that I walked out at this beautiful stadium, I felt the passion of Old Trafford and the love that I now share with our supporters for this special club. It is not time to say goodbye; there are many more memories to create during the next four months. We still have a lot to fight for together; my complete focus will, as always, remain on giving my everything to help our club to succeed.”
Casemiro joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2022 in a £70 million move from Real Madrid. He’s made 97 league appearances across four seasons, including 20 this season, and recorded 10 goals. During his time at United, Casemiro has won a League Cup and FA Cup.
His trophy haul in England has been paltry compared to his nine seasons at the Bernabeu where he won three league titles, a Copa del Rey and five Champions League titles.
Internationally, Casemiro has been capped 82 times by Brazil and appeared at two World Cups.
United currently sits fifth in the table on 35 points, one behind Liverpool for the final Champions League spot. The Red Devils return to action on Sunday with a visit to leaders Arsenal.
