It's been a good week at Old Trafford and a relatively quiet one as well, for a change. Victory against Manchester City was the perfect start to the Michael Carrick era and it has calmed things down.

Carrick was handed a contract until the end of the season at Manchester United but got his 17-game stint in charge off to the perfect start as goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu secured a thoroughly deserved 2-0 win.

United now travel to Arsenal on Sunday when they will be looking to make another statement, while the transfer window also remains open. We'll be running through a few questions related to that in this week's Q&A.

We run weekly question and answer sessions, so click here to submit your questions, and we'll answer them next week. Here are the answers to some of this week's questions:

When are we signing a better right-back?

A LOT of questions this week about Diogo Dalot. It's pretty clear Dalot has become the whipping boy this season and there was a sense of frustration again when he sent an early pass straight out of play on Saturday. In fairness, I thought he recovered well and had a decent game.

Signing a right-back has been a long-running saga at Old Trafford and it could get overtaken again this summer, when midfield will clearly take up a huge portion of the war chest.

Dalot has had a difficult season, and part of the current issue is that if he has a drop in form, there isn't a great deal of competition. Noussair Mazraoui is back now and could offer some before the end of the season now that he isn't needed in the back three.

If United qualify for the Champions League, then they might be able to get a transfer kitty that can include a right-back as well, but the priority will certainly be midfield signings. Speaking of which...

Are United going to address the obvious midfield problems this month? Rumours about Ruben Neves, would be an astute signing at £15m to £20m.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if this window closed without a midfielder being signed. It feels less of an issue than it did at the start of the month. The return to a 4-2-3-1 system has taken the pressure off in terms of numbers, as has Carrick's trust in Kobbie Mainoo.

Casemiro and Mainoo started against City and I imagine they will against Arsenal. Manuel Ugarte and Mason Mount are both on the bench. In the No. 10 role, Bruno Fernandes is starting and Mount and Matheus Cunha offer alternatives. Fernandes could always drop deeper as well.

I don't think there is a desperate issue there with numbers and there are only 15 games to go after this weekend. There has been a lot of agent talk around Neves but nothing concrete. Players like Wilfred Ndidi have been offered, but at that level, there is no improvement to the squad.

United want to keep their power dry for the summer, and at the moment, I think that is what is most likely to happen. But expect at least two new midfielders this summer and significant investment in that area of the pitch.

Will the club do what they did with Solskjaer and rush in to appointing Carrick?

In short, no. Carrick made an excellent start but he has to continue that now. If he wins the next 16 games then clearly he will get the job and he is at least in a position to have an audition.

United insist the process will be thorough, and right now, I'd still consider Carrick an outsider. That could change, though. If performances continue to match Saturday's and he shows he can improve players, then his candidacy becomes more attractive.

As of now, it feels like a wide-open market to see who comes next.

Why aren't ALL of the owners looking to sell the club after the worst two years of running the club, in the club's history?

I can see this being a big topic again leading into the Fulham game and a planned protest against the Glazers and Ineos. It feels like the mood has shifted significantly in recent weeks in terms of Sir Jim Ratcliffe. He was facing criticism before but it has become more widespread now.

It will be interesting to see the size of the protest - The 1958 expect it to be the biggest yet - and where much of the anger is directed. The union between the Glazers and the Ratcliffe regime feels like a problem in terms of getting things done.

But at the moment, I don't see any scenario developing where there is a sale of part or even all of the club.
