Manchester United are expected to endure a busy summer transfer window with one big decision already made. January has, to this point, been quiet regarding signings but that has not been the case in the dugout with Ruben Amorim sacked and replaced on an interim basis by Michael Carrick.

His first game in charge was a superb win over neighbours Manchester City with Casemiro putting in an excellent performance. Despite that, United have confirmed he will be departing at the end of the season which is when his contract expires.

There was an option to extend his deal by 12 months but that has not been taken with further impetus placed on the need for midfield additions. Carlos Baleba, Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton are the standout replacements, while a long-term target of United could be back on radar with talks planned to determine his future.

Crunch talks planned

Borussia Dortmund want to renew the contract of Felix Nmecha - amid interest from elsewhere. United are one club to have been linked recently, though an extension could prevent any move from taking place.

That is the latest information from Sky Sports Germany, who have claimed that Dortmund want to agree a new deal - with his current contract expiring in the summer of 2028. Their current plan is for discussions to take place once the winter transfer window closes.

Nmecha has scored five goals and grabbed three assists from 28 appearances in all competitions. That's with his midfield minutes increasing since the departure of Pascal Gross.

£100m price tag slapped on target

Tottenham have slapped a £100million price tag on key defender Micky van de Ven amid interest from Liverpool and Man Utd.

It has been claimed the Netherlands international is reluctant to sign a new contract in north London, with his current deal expiring in 2029. Tottenham are desperate to keep him which is why a triple-figure asking price has been placed on him, as per Team Talk.

Thomas Frank further showed that stance with his comments on his future at a press conference on Thursday.

He said: "I've just seen Micky today. He seems very happy and smiling. Very happy after the game we won, in the changing room. He's a fantastic player and a fantastic ambassador for this club.

"He's maybe had his best season for the club. He's growing as as leader and a big player for the future.

"I would say he is very important player for us. Micky is a Tottenham player for us now - and the future."
