Man Utd have had a rollercoaster of a month after Ruben Amorim was sacked by the Premier League club and Michael Carrick was appointed interim head coach.
The Red Devils crashed out of the FA Cup earlier this month during Darren Fletcher’s two-match caretaker spell, with Brighton defeating Man Utd 2-1 at Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim was axed as Man Utd head coach after the 40-year-old Portuguese coach’s relationship with the Ineos regime had splintered in recent weeks.

David Ornstein reveals Man Utd are in a position that is catching the eye of rival Premier League teams

David Ornstein has explained that Man Utd’s Premier League-only matches from now and until the end of the season are viewed as a real threat to other rival teams.
Speaking on The Transfers Podcast, he said: “And then they go on with the sole focus of trying to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
“There’s trepidation around the Premier League in that bracket of positions and clubs as to how good Manchester United looked against City and how clear a path they have towards the end of the season to just train and play matches.”

The Red Devils have been reduced to a 40-match season in the 2025-26 campaign after Man Utd’s exit from the FA Cup this month and the League Cup last August.
United already had limited fixtures in place for the current campaign after the Red Devils failed to secure any kind of European football under Ruben Amorim.
Michael Carrick kicked off his interim head coach reign with a statement win last weekend, with Man Utd comfortably beating Manchester City 2-0 at Old Trafford.
The 44-year-old United legend has 16 Premier League matches remaining in his interim spell and the top-four picture is all to play for in the 2025-26 season.
