Man Utd boss Michael Carrick says Mathjis de Ligt is closing in on a return to action, but will not be ready for Sunday’s game Arsenal.
The Dutchman has been out since December but Carrick hopes to have him back in a couple of weeks.
“He had a bit of setback before I arrived, only small but he was a little bit slower than we would had liked,” he said.
“He’s getting closer and hopefully in the next couple of weeks he will be back and around it.”
On the challenge of facing the league leaders, Carrick said: “Looking forward to the game, it’s a big challenge.
“They’re a very good team. They have so many strong points to their game, they are where they are for a reason, we’re fully aware of that.
“We’re in a good place and looking forward to the game. It’s where we want to be, with that energy and enthusiasm to go and be positive.”
