Former Red Devils star Teddy Sheringham has opened up and pleaded with the Manchester United board to do whatever they can to keep hold of star midfielder Bruno Fernandes at the end of the season.
Fernandes has become of the of the best midfielders in his position since the move to Manchester United a few seasons ago, and a player that the Red Devils have really relied on for goals and assists.
However – with the clubs lack of silverware, the constant changing of managers and the lack of world class ability in the side, there has been alot of speculation that Fernandes could seek to leave Manchester United if he ambitions are not met by the board.
But amid all the speculation and rumours, The former centre-forward exclusively told the Manchester Evening News, via BetMGM that the United board should do everything they can to keep hold of Fernandes, and that the attacker should stay: “Well, you’ve got to weigh up the situation. You’ve got to see how old he is.
“At the moment, he’s firing on all cylinders and still playing great football. I wouldn’t want to lose too many players from Manchester United who are playing at the top of their game, so he’d be one I’d like to keep.
“But again, if they get offered silly money from Saudi, then you’ve got to look at it because you can. You can revamp your team with a lot of money.
“He’s probably been the top performer over the last three years. It hasn’t been hard, let’s put it that way, because there are a lot of players underperforming.
“His stock is still very high, because he’s a top player, keeps scoring goals, and he’s leading by example on the football pitch. So I’d be looking to keep Fernandes.”
IcFootballnews Says…
Fernandes is world class, is a player that most clubs would like to sign, so if there is an opportunity to get him at the end of the season, many clubs will make their moves.
The Portuguese star wants to stay, but if his ambitions are not met and he cannot win silverware in the next few years, then a move could really happen.
