Potential Casemiro replacement is ‘offering himself’ to Man United following club announcement

Casemiro is due to leave Old Trafford when his contract expires this summer

The Brazilian will be 34 by the time he bids farewell to Old Trafford, leaving space in the engine room for a new midfielder.

United have been linked with several transfer targets for both this window and the summer. While a lot of targets come with hefty competition, the Red Devils have been presented with an uncommon case involving a player ‘offering himself’ to the club.

Wilfred Ndidi ‘offers himself’ to Man United

Fabrizio Romano has reported that there is now a link between Man United and former Leicester City star Ndidi. The midfielder, now 29, left the Foxes to sign for Turkish side Besiktas last summer but he is already looking to move away.

A return to the Premier League appeals to Ndidi, having spent eight-and-a-half years playing football in England. The Nigeria international has reportedly ‘offered himself’ to United but the club are yet to respond with an official proposal.

“One player that has been offered to Manchester United is Wilfred Ndidi. Offered in the sense that he would be keen on returning to the Premier League and Man United are aware of this chance,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

“At the moment, Man United have not made any bid or any proposal. The player is ready in terms of the contract side of things, so let’s see what’s going to happen in this kind of conversation, because at the moment, he has been offered to Man United. Ndidi is offering himself.”

Casemiro to leave Man United this summer

After ongoing speculation over his future, Casemiro is due to leave United at the end of the season. Previous transfer talks suggested the midfielder could be axed earlier but he has remained a regular and key part of the starting line-up this season.

United paid tribute to Casemiro and his contributions to the club in their statement. The board will likely be looking to sign a solid replacement for the midfielder ahead of the 2026/27 season. Whether they pursue Ndidi remains to be seen but the player is clearly keen on joining the side, which could make negotiations easier than expected.

“I will carry Manchester United with me throughout my entire life,” Casemiro said.

“From the first day that I walked out at this beautiful stadium, I felt the passion of Old Trafford and the love that I now share with our supporters for this special club.

“It is not time to say goodbye; there are many more memories to create during the next four months. We still have a lot to fight for together; my complete focus will, as always, remain on giving my everything to help our club to succeed.”
