Report: Man United transfer dream now a ‘possibility’ as club prepared to pay £120m for ‘top…

Man United are levelling up their interest in Premier League rival Cole Palmer

Palmer is under contract with the Blues until 2033. He initially signed a seven-year deal, with the option of an extra year, when he joined the club from Manchester City in 2023. The following year, he penned a further two-year extension and is now in the top ten most valuable players in the world, according to Transfermarkt values.

Man United’s Cole Palmer ‘transfer dream a possibility’

It’s no secret United are interested in signing Palmer but a new report has revealed just how determined they are to bring him to Old Trafford.

According to Fichajes, the Red Devils have made Palmer their ‘top target’ for their upcoming summer transfer rebuild. The reported transfer fee is an eye-watering £120 million but United are ‘prepared to make an unprecedented financial effort’ to make a move happen.

“Manchester United's financial structure allows them to absorb a salary of this magnitude, making the dream a very real possibility. With Casemiro's departure confirmed at the end of his contract, the team urgently needs a new figure to lead the sporting project,” the report says.

Will Cole Palmer sign for Man United?

United are eager to sign Palmer and Chelsea are reportedly willing to sell, but will he end up at the Theatre of Dreams next season?

The 23-year-old was born in Wythenshawe and came through the Manchester City Academy. He made sporadic appearances before his move to Chelsea, which saw him rise from strength to strength at both club and international level.

Reports claim that Palmer has the itch to return to the north of England, which puts Man United in a favourable position on the transfer front. They are willing to pull out all the stops to try and sign the England international, especially with Casemiro confirmed to leave the club at the end of the season.

Palmer contributed 18 goals and 14 assists across all competitions for Chelsea last season.
