Man Utd made it two wins from two under Michael Carrick with a stunning 3-2 win over Arsenal on Sunday afternoon

The Red Devils came from 1-0 down after a Lisandro Martinez own goal to eventually win the game with an 87th-minute striker from Matheus Cunha.

Bryan Mbeumo pounced on a mistake from Martin Zubimendi to level before half time. Patrick Dorgu then fired in a stunning volley in the 50th minute to put the away side in front.

Mikel Merino bundled home an equaliser for the Gunners in the 84th minute but United were not level for long, as Cunha hammered in a stunning strike of his own to win it for the away side.

They are the first team to beat Arsenal at the Emirates this season and also the first team to stop Arsenal winning in a game they took the lead in.

Carrick’s side are now fourth in the table, one point above Chelsea and two above Liverpool - who lost 3-2 at Bournemouth on Saturday night.

The ex-Red Devils man said the Denmark international was ‘completely and utterly different’ compared to his opening few months at Old Trafford.

The statistics back up Dorgu’s impressive rise in form. In his last seven games, he has scored three goals and provided two assists. His first goal for the club was in a 1-0 win over Newcastle United on Boxing Day while he also scored in the win over Manchester City.

The player also came in for big praise from interim boss Carrick after the game.

He said: “Pat’s been a big player for us, obviously he’s scored two goals but in terms of the threat and athleticism and quality, he’s been immense down the side with Luke Shaw] against two teams that ask a lot of questions.

“I am delighted for him because the two goals he’s scored are very different goals. It’s nice to see him smiling and happy.”

Dorgu did not finish the game, as Carrick provided an update on his fitness. He said: “He obviously came off with, hopefully, a little bit of cramp, hopefully, it’s nothing worse.

“At this stage, it’s hard to tell, so we’ll just have to wait and see. Hopefully it’s not too bad.”
