Matheus Cunha provided a moment of magic to power Manchester United to a win over Arsenal.
It can’t have been easy for Matheus Cunha to be back on the substitute’s bench after such a impressive cameo performance against Manchester City a week ago.
Cunha provided an assist in the Manchester Derby, and almost added another, before Mason Mount’s goal was ruled out for a barely-seen offside.
After debate over whether he should start, Cunha was back on the bench, and returned to role of impact-maker.

Matheus Cunha inspires win
Matheus Cunha scored an 87th minute winner to silence The Emirates crowd and seal United’s first league win at the ground since 2017.
And just like how former star Jesse Lingard turned Arsenal’s home ground into his own ‘dancefloor’ as he dubbed it, Cunha rolled back the clock.
Cunha struck a sensational curling strike from 25 yards out, leaving David Raya clutching at thin air with his dive.

Before being mobbed by teammates and running over to the away fans, Cunha had a moment of his own where he simply danced on the spot where he shot from.
Speaking after the game, Cunha commented that he embraced the big game atmosphere.
He told Sky Sports: “These kind of games are the games we dreamed of playing when I come to United. These are the games we watched on television.
“This is one of the best moments for me here.”

Cunha made Carrick prediction come true
Matheus Cunha was a second half substitute for first half goalscorer Bryan Mbeumo.
Speaking to club media, Carrick explained that he was confident Cunha could have a decisive impact.
He said: “When Matheus [Cunha] came on, I just fancied him to score, to make an impact. Fantastic finish.
“He epitomises what, as a group, we’ve been like this week. He has not started both games, but he’s had a real big impact.
“He’s been disappointed not to start, but he’s used that in a really good way.
“Two huge moments, and he totally deserves that winning goal for the way he has applied himself all week. I’m absolutely delighted for him.”
Carrick separately admitted that he was hoping for the best after Patrick Dorgu was forced off late. If he does miss any time, Cunha will be more than ready to step in as a starter.
