Roy Keane delivered a straightforward answer when Ant and Dec enquired whether he'd consider joining ITV's I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. The TV duo featured on the most recent instalment of the Stick to Football podcast, where they sat down with the Manchester United icon.

Keane was accompanied by Gary Neville, Jill Scott, Ian Wright and Jamie Carragher as they hosted Ant and Dec on the show.

The celebrated presenting pair questioned Keane – who serves as part of ITV's football punditry team – regarding the prospect of him venturing to the Australian jungle for the reality programme, perhaps even this year, reports the Mirror.

Nevertheless, Keane's response to the suggestion of heading Down Under for the show was typically direct. "Roy, when you do it, you’ll realise it’s actually a lot of fun," Ant remarked to Keane, prompting the former United captain to reply: “Dream on, lads, dream on."

Ant persisted in his attempts to convince Keane to sign up for I'm a Celebrity, whilst Dec jokingly suggested taking the matter directly to ITV executives.

“Is it a no then? Because I know you’ve joked about it on here a lot,” Ant asked. “Do we just need to go back to ITV today with something signed?”

Dec then added: “Give us a bit of paper and a pen and you can write down a number, we’ll take it to ITV. We’ll put it under their noses. You don’t have to mention it (the number) here.”

Keane responded: “Why do you think it’s always about numbers? Everyone thinks it’s about numbers.”

Neville then asked Keane about whether his former United colleague had ever been asked to participate in I'm a Celebrity, to which Keane responded: “A couple of times, yeah.”

Dec chimed in: “He could have a couple of weeks off from here, couldn’t he? You don’t want to hang about here like a bad smell.”

Scott then proposed: “We said that if we get Ant and Dec on, we’ll send you to the jungle,” prompting Keane to respond: “Who agreed that? Oh it was agreed behind the scenes.”

Scott then quizzed Keane about the possibility of him venturing into the jungle for the popular television show.

“You would be so good,” Scott encouraged. “Is there even one per cent of you that would consider it?”

“I don’t know,” Keane replied. “I don’t like looking too far forwards. It’s too far away.”
