Roy Keane gave a blunt response when asked by Ant and Dec if he would appear on ITV’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. The TV presenters appeared on the latest episode of the Stick to Football podcast alongside the Manchester United legend.
Keane was joined by Gary Neville, Jill Scott, Ian Wright and Jamie Carragher, who welcomed Ant and Dec onto the podcast. The iconic TV presenting duo quizzed Keane – who works for ITV as part of their football coverage – about the United legend’s chance of appearing on I’m a Celebrity in the future, potentially this year.
However, Keane gave a blunt response when asked about the possibility of making the trip to Australia for the show. “Roy, when you do it, you’ll realise it’s actually a lot of fun,” Ant told Keane. This led to the United legend replying: “Dream on, lads, dream on.”
Ant then continued to try and persuade Keane to appear on I’m a Celebrity, with Dec then jokingly saying that he would put the quest to ITV themselves.
“Is it a no then? Because I know you’ve joked about it on here a lot,” Ant said. “Do we just need to go back to ITV today with something signed?”
Dec then added: “Give us a bit of paper and a pen and you can write down a number, we’ll take it to ITV. We’ll put it under their noses. You don’t have to mention it (the number) here.”
Keane then replied: “Why do you think it’s always about numbers? Everyone thinks it’s about numbers.”
Neville then asked Keane if his former United team-mate had ever previously been asked to appear on I’m a Celebrity. Keane then replied: “A couple of times, yeah.”
Dec said: “He could have a couple of weeks off from here, couldn’t he? You don’t want to hang about here like a bad smell.”

Scott then said: “We said that if we get Ant and Dec on, we’ll send you to the jungle,” which led to Keane replying: “Who agreed that? Oh it was agreed behind the scenes.”
Scott then asked Keane if there would be any chance that he would consider going into the jungle for the popular TV programme.
“You would be so good,” Scott said. “Is there even one per cent of you that would consider it?”
“I don’t know,” Keane answered. “I don’t like looking too far forwards. It’s too far away.”
