The 33-year-old Brazil international has retained his importance in the Manchester United first-team squad under Michael Carrick after Ruben Amorim’s sacking.
Casemiro has been deployed in the midfield pivot alongside Kobbie Mainoo in Michael Carrick’s first two matches in charge as United interim head coach.
The Red Devils midfielder played 81 minutes of Man Utd’s 2-0 win over Manchester City at Old Trafford before seeing out the full 90 minutes against Arsenal on Sunday.

Casemiro has entered the tail end of his Red Devils playing spell after it was confirmed last week that he would be leaving the club in the summer.

Casemiro has been at Man Utd since 2022 after the Red Devils splashed out on a hefty deal worth up to £70m to sign him from La Liga outfit Real Madrid.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand has insisted that people should not “underestimate” Casemiro after his performance in United’s 3-2 win over Arsenal.
“Casemiro, can I just say, yes, he won’t be here this season,” he said on Rio Ferdinand Presents.
“But don’t underestimate this guy, still has a lot to give [to] football. We’re seeing Casemiro play at a really high level.”

Casemiro enjoyed incredible success at Madrid and the five-time Champions League winner forged a remarkable midfield triangle with both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.
The Brazil midfielder is hailed for his defensive midfield role, but Ferdinand felt Casemiro was doing the role of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric against Arsenal.

“Today, getting through the press, he’s the one they’re going through; he’s adapted his game,” Ferdinand added.
“He’s being asked what Modric and Kroos would do at Real Madrid; he’s doing that at Man United.”
Casemiro has made 22 appearances across all competitions for Man Utd in the 2025-26 campaign and he has netted four times and registered one assist for his side.
