Manchester United transfer talks on Tuesday– Deadline exit if United agree option

In recent weeks Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte has been linked with a move to Galatasaray.

Cimbom are keen to bring in a defensive midfielder before the deadline, and a number of players have been targeted.

Earlier this month we covered reports which stated the Manchester United player had agreed personal terms with the Super Lig club.

However, since the departure of Ruben Amorim rumours of a transfer to Istanbul had quietend. The Uruguay international struggled to get starts under the Portuguese coach.

Süleyman Rodop has reported on the latest developments regarding Gala’s pursuit for a midfielder and he says Ugarte is back on the agenda.

Manchester United talks tomorrow

Habersarikirmizi cover comments from the Turkish journalist, who has revealed the Istanbul club will hold transfer talks regarding the 24-year-old on Tuesday.

Galatasaray want to loan the Manchester United midfielder, with an option to purchase. If the Premier League club agree to this, then a transfer can be completed this week.

“Galatasaray’s critical meeting on the transfer will be tomorrow. Galatasaray and Ugarte (the player’s camp) sit down at the table tomorrow and the expected meeting will take place. If Manchester United accepts a purchase option on Ugarte and loans him, they will complete the transfer,” said Rodop.

It’s unlikely Manchester United will want to lose the former PSG player in this window and stand to gain nothing from the deal. His departure would leave the Old Trafford club short in midfield going into the latter stages of the season.

With the recent managerial change, there is no indication of Michael Carricks’s plans for Ugarte. There have also been reports the midfielder wants to fight for his Manchester United future.

Ugarte has made 18 appearances in all competitions this season, but has struggled for starts.

He’s contracted to the Red Devils until June 2029, with the option of another season.
