Tuesday morning telephone call – Tottenham attacker now closer to exit

During the summer, Tottenham Hotspur signed Randal Kolo Muani on loan from Paris Saint-Germain following Juventus’ failure to keep him.

The striker was on loan in Italy during the second half of last season. He and the Serie A side were both keen on extending their relationship. The latter couldn’t agree terms with PSG, and that allowed Tottenham to swoop in.

Two months ago, the French press reported the Tottenham man was the victim of a transfer war between Juve and PSG.

The France international has scored two goals and contributed three assists from 23 matches for Thomas Frank’s side. His immediate future could be away from the north London club.

Gianluca Di Marzio now comes up with a report on Juventus interest in the 27-year-old. Juve are trying again, in a surprising development.

Kolo Muani managed 10 goals and three assists from 20 matches for the Turin club. The journalist claims Juve haven’t stopped thinking about him and have received signals of his possible Tottenham exit in this window.

‘[Juve have] received signs of his possible departure from Tottenham, especially if the Spurs fail to qualify for the top eight in the Champions League.’

Tottenham are fifth in the UEFA table, two points ahead of ninth placed Barcelona, and face Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday.

Frank’s side need to first cut short Kolo Muani’s loan stay for Juve to sign him again. If this were to happen, the Old Lady will then have to find an agreement with PSG. In short, this is a ‘complicated negotiation’.

Tuttosport report Juve had a call with Kolo Muani’s entourage on Tuesday morning. After a mixed season at Spurs, the Frenchman would ‘gladly return’ to Italy this week.

The newspaper state: ‘The shared language with Kalulu and Thuram, the connection with Yildiz, all keys to a magical period, one to which Randal would gladly return if only it weren’t such a daunting scenario to realise.’

Juventus are aware of the complexity of the operation, especially with less than a week left in the window. The Old Lady will try and it’s probably too early to predict a positive outcome in their favour.

For now, the ‘door is open’ for Kolo Muani to return to Juventus.
