Juventus have faced disappointment in their attempts to sign a striker this January. Nottingham Forest and Manchester United are now about to ruin the Italian clubs plans, as deadline day approaches.
TuttoSport today report the Bianconeri are growing desperate for a striker signing.
Dusan Vlahovic is injured and is leaving for free in the summer. Manager Luciano Spalletti is seeking a replacement already, with a move for Fenerbahce’s Youssef En-Nesyri having collapsed in recent days.
Despite intentions of trying again for Jean-Philippe Mateta, Juve are now likely to miss out to Nottingham Forest. Juve have also faced difficulties with an attempt for Everton’s Beto.
Sean Dyche’s side are closing in on the Frenchman. As a result, a move for the 28-year-old has stalled. He is keen on leaving Crystal Palace this month and Juve have not managed to convince the Eagles.
The misery doesn’t end there for the Old Lady. Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee was a possible option too, with the Bianconeri having previously pursued the Dutchman.
Now, the Red Devils have closed door on the 24-year-old’s January transfer.
This is a cause for annoyance for Juventus, who have made initial contact for Randal Kolo Muani. The Turin newspaper believe that even if a move for the Frenchman is complicated, a call has been made to understand his situation.
As a result, alternatives are being considered. There is the possibility that Juve look at options in Serie A like Mateo Pellegrino and Keinan Davis. In hindsight, the Turin club should really have identified targets that were more realistic ahead of the January window. Now they’re scraping around with less than a week left and the odds are stacked against the club securing a good deal.
