Jadon Sancho's value on the transfer market has appeared to decrease, once again, despite the forward thriving while on loan away from Manchester United. Sancho joined Aston Villa last summer - on a loan deal until the end of the season - having spent the previous campaign on a temporary stint at Chelsea.

Sancho expressed a desire to leave Old Trafford this summer after Chelsea chose not to exercise their £25million obligation to buy clause which was included in his loan move from United.

What followed was a move to Villa - which will run until the end of the campaign - at which point the forward's contract at United is scheduled to come to an end.

United do have an option to extend Sancho's deal with the club by a further 12 months should they choose to do so, but it remains to be seen if an extension will happen between now and the end of the term.

Sancho has made 20 appearances for Villa this season, scoring just one goal, which came in the Europa League.

During his time at Villa, Sancho's market value has decreased, yet again. Transfermarkt has stated that the United loanee's transfer value now stands at £17million (€20million), which is the lowest it has been since the summer of 2018 during his first spell at former club Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho's market value has decreased dramatically over these last few years, with the peak coming back in 2020 when it was at £113million (€130million).

The 25-year-old's value at the time of signing for United in 2021 was £78million (€90million).

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Sancho after his loan spell at Villa and whether or not United will exercise the option of a further year in the forward's contract.

Sancho recently made a subtle dig against United after scoring the winning goal in Villa's 1-0 win over Fenerbahce in the Europa League last week.

"It's nice to have a manager who backs you and obviously believes in you," Sancho said. "Again, every opportunity I get, I'm going to try and do 100 per cent, and hopefully I can deliver more goals."

Sancho joined United to work with the club's former manager Erik ten Hag. The pair notably clashed at the start of the 2023/2024 season - which led to the forward eventually going on loan at Dortmund for the second half of that campaign.

United loaned Sancho out to Chelsea at the start of last season, while Ten Hag was still in charge, and went on to agree another loan last summer to Villa when Ruben Amorim was the club's head coach.
