Man Utd have reportedly suffered a huge injury setback after their weekend win over Arsenal in the Premier League.

Manchester United are reportedly set to be without Patrick Dorgu for over two months after he suffered a hamstring injury in the 3-2 weekend win over Arsenal.

The 21-year-old was forced off in the 81st minute of the match after he picked up an issue as he chased a long ball. Dorgu could be seen in clear discomfort as he made his way off the pitch, and United initially hoped he had only suffered 'a little bit of cramp.'

United always knew they would have to wait a day or so until they could get a detailed prognosis and now The Athletic claim the rejuvenated star is set for roughly 10 weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury. If that timeline proves to be correct, Dorgu would miss the next eight matches and be in contention to return when United host Leeds on 11 April.

Manchester United suffer Dorgu injury blow

Manchester United could be without Patrick Dorgu for the next eight matches if his early injury prognosis proves to be correct. Michael Carrick is expected to issue an official team news update on the versatile player when he holds his next press conference on Friday afternoon.

Dorgu has been one of the best players across the last two matches under the new coach and scored brilliant goals against both Man City and Arsenal. The Denmark international has made 22 league appearances this season, registering three goals and three assists in the process.

Carrick piled the praise on Dorgu after he produced another 'immense' performance when United defeated Arsenal in the Premier League over the weekend. "Yeah, Pat has been a big player for us over the last couple of games. In so many ways," Carrick said after the Arsenal win. "Attacking-wise, he has obviously scored two goals, but I think in terms of the threat and the athleticism, the quality coming in as well, connections. But defensively, he has been immense as well down the side with Luke, doubling up. Against two teams who ask a lot of questions down the sides. It is a big, big job for him.

"I am delighted for him. The two goals he has scored are very different, but you get that because he has put so much into the performances. It is nice to see him smiling and happy. He came off with hopefully a little bit of cramp, nothing worse. It just shows what he has put into the performance. Absolutely delighted for him, hopefully it is not too bad."
