“Must do everything” – Sissoko urges massive effort on later Tottenham transfer

Late on Monday, Gianluca di Marzio spoke of Juventus’ interest in Tottenham’s Randal Kolo Muani, who is on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.

A January deal was going to be complex, especially with time running out in the window.

Juve were relying on Tottenham’s failure to finish in the top eight of the Champions League to possibly land the Frenchman.

TuttoSport on Tuesday had more information about the situation, including reporting a Juve call to the player’s entourage this morning.

As word grows in Italy, ex-Juve player Momo Sissoko spoke to TuttoJuve about the France international.

He backed the Bianconeri to land the Tottenham player and is excited about the links.

The former midfielder said: “I hope Kolo Muani can return to Juventus. He felt very good in Turin, and last year his goals were decisive in qualifying for the Champions League. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to prove his worth at Tottenham, so I’d like to see him back in black and white.”

Sissoko believes Kolo Muani will add a lot to Luciano Spalletti’s current system.

“Quality players are always needed to win. Kolo Muani would certainly be an extra asset for Spalletti, but I’ve really been enjoying David lately.

“I’ve always said that in Italy it took time to get used to him, but now in the last few games I see him more confident in his abilities.”

The former Old Lady player is certain that Kolo Muani is better than Jean-Philippe Mateta and Youssef En-Nesyri.

“Of course, Kolo Muani is strong and ideal for his style of play. A club like Juventus must do everything to bring him back, he’s my favourite. Even more than En-Nesyri and Mateta, who are, with all due respect, two good players.”

During his six-month loan in Turin last season, Kolo Muani scored ten times in all competitions. This proved key in Juve’s march to Champions League football.

At Tottenham, he had injuries to deal with early in the season. It was a period of adaptation that didn’t help with momentum. The 26-year-old has shown glimpses of his quality but it has never led to consistent performances.

Returning to Italy can help him turn things around, with his Serie A experience coming in handy.
