Ben Foster has now spotlighted one key moment involving Senne Lammens during Manchester United’s sensational win over Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday evening.

Senne Lammens has established himself as Manchester United’s No 1 after his move from Royal Antwerp in September 2025 and the Belgian ace has impressed so far.

Is Senne Lammens actually Manchester United’s best signing of the season?

The 23-year-old Belgium international has started every match for the Red Devils since his debut in Man Utd’s 2-0 win over Sunderland at Old Trafford last October.

Lammens has made 18 appearances across all competitions for United in his debut season and the Red Devils No 1 has kept three clean sheets in the Premier League.

Altay Bayindir has been playing second fiddle to Lammens in the 2025-26 season, while Andre Onana was offloaded to Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor last September.

“He’s tried to get a punch,” he said on the Fozcast podcast.

“What he’s done is basically he’s got his arms too low. So, when you’re coming out like that and there’s a million [players ahead of him], you have to come out almost with your arms up here because as soon as you try and lift them up, if there’s players in front of you, they’re just going to get stuck.

“And that’s exactly what happened – he’s got his arms stuck, hasn’t he? Basically, so, he can’t get up and punch it.

“So, come out a bit higher and you’ll be able to get that one early.”

Ben Foster on what he has noticed about Man Utd and Belgium star Senne Lammens at Old Trafford this season

Despite critiquing Lammens’ decision-making against Arsenal, Foster did praise the Belgium star for the knock-on effect his aura is having on the players around him.

“Do you know what? I just like his air of confidence,” he explained.

“Whether he’s going to be good enough as a goalkeeper remains to be seen, but he’s got an air of confidence where he doesn’t seem like a flapper.

“He doesn’t seem like somebody who stresses and worries too much. Everything seems quite calm and in front of him.

“He should have done better with the second goal where he’s come out.”

Foster added: “That’s the bit there, the calming influence, I think, on the back four as well.”

Man Utd have chalked up back-to-back Premier League wins under Michael Carrick ahead of their clash against Fulham at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
