Report: United’s Dorgu (hamstring) out several weeks

The resurgent Manchester United will be without the services of Patrick Dorgu for several weeks, BBC Sport’s Simon Stone reports.

The 21-year-old Denmark wingback picked up the injury during Sunday’s 3-2 win over Premier League leaders Arsenal at the Emirates. Dorgu scored a sensational second goal for the Red Devils during the match.

Stone notes that further assessment is required to determine an exact recovery time.

A native of Copenhagen, Dorgu joined United in February of 2025 in a £25 million move from Lecce. He’s made 22 league appearances this season, scoring three times.

Denmark is set for a crucial World Cup playoff semi-final on March 26 against North Macedonia. Should they win, they will move to play the winner of the Czechia-Ireland match scheduled for the same day. The winner of that second match earns a berth to this summer’s World Cup in North America. The UEFA Path D victor is set to compete in Group A alongside hosts Mexico, South Korea and South Africa.

With the injury, Dorgu’s availability for the North Macedonia match is up in the air.

United currently sits fourth in the table on 38 points, 12 points adrift of the Gunners atop the standings. The Red Devils return to action on Sunday when they host seventh-place Fulham at Old Trafford.
